Easy Caramel Sauce

This is amazing over ice cream, cakes, pies, and pancakes!
Ingredients
  • ½ cup butter (1 stick)
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • pinch of kosher salt
Instructions
  1. In a small sauce pan over medium heat add your butter, brown sugar, and milk. Stir it around until it is all melted together and comes to a boil.
  2. Let simmer for about 5-6 minutes stirring often (turn down the heat a little if you need to).
  3. Remove from the heat and add your vanilla and a pinch of kosher salt.  Stir it all up.
  4. Let it sit in the pan for about 20 minutes.  The sauce will thicken as it cools.  Then pour over something yummy or store in a glass container in the refrigerator.  When you are ready to use it just warm it up a little in the microwave.  Enjoy!
